History

Turnbull-Whitaker is an independent insurance brokerage operating for 60 years. Founded by Ray Turnbull in 1962 under the name of Ray Turnbull Ltd., the firm became Turnbull-Whitaker Insurance Agency Inc. in 1984 with the addition of new partner Bob Whitaker. These two individuals oversaw the early growth of the company, establishing both our Corydon Avenue and St. Mary's Road offices. Bob retired in 2010 at which time Ray's daughter Lori King became a principal owner with her father.

In 2018 Lori retired and Ray was then joined by his son Reg as his new partner. With the passing of Ray in that same year, Reg became President of TWI and recruited the assistance of long-time TWI General Manager Brian Warren and an experienced commercial broker, Rob Depres.

Today, over 15 individuals provide professional insurance services to our clients from two locations.

Community Involvement

Turnbull-Whitaker strives to serve the community as responsible and professional corporate citizens. As an organization, we support community involvement through donations, sponsorships, community centers and charitable organizations. We encourage our employees to directly participate in community volunteerism by making 2 paid days per year per individual.
